Heat Exchanger - Left - 1963-79 - Type 1 Engines

This reproduction left-hand heat exchanger is a good quality replacement for the original unit fitted to 1200cc–1600cc aircooled Type 1 engines. Designed to restore efficient cabin heating and proper exhaust flow, this unit fits a wide range of classic VW models including the Beetle, Splitscreen, Baywindow, Karmann Ghia, Buggy, and Baja from 1963 to 1979.

The heat exchanger channels hot air from the engine cooling system into the cabin, making it an essential part of your VW’s heating setup. It also acts as part of the exhaust system, meaning a failing or rusted unit can cause both performance loss and reduced heat output.
