T4,T5,G3,G4,G5 Camshaft Oil Seal

This front camshaft oil seal fits selected VW petrol and diesel engines and seals the camshaft where it passes through the cylinder head or timing cover. Its job is to keep engine oil inside the engine while allowing the camshaft to rotate freely. When the seal hardens or wears, oil can leak into the timing belt area or down the engine, leading to contamination, oil loss, and possible belt damage on cambelt engines.

This seal is for right-hand shaft rotation and measures 47mm outer diameter, 32mm inner diameter, 10mm width. It fits the front side of the engine. When replacing, check the camshaft surface, housing, breather system, and timing belt components. On timing belt engines, it is sensible to renew the timing belt, tensioner, and related seals at the same time if due.
