G4 Air Mass Meter - 1.8 Turbo

This air mass sensor (MAF sensor) measures the amount of air entering the engine so the engine control unit can calculate the correct fuel injection quantity. This is critical on the 1.8 petrol engines as the ECU uses this reading to control fuel mixture, ignition timing, and engine load calculations.

If the air mass meter fails, the engine may run rich or lean due to incorrect air readings. Common symptoms include hesitation under acceleration, loss of power, poor fuel economy, rough idle, engine management light, or the engine running better when the sensor is unplugged. Replacing the air mass sensor restores correct air/fuel mixture and engine performance.

This unit comes complete with housing and uses a 4 pin connector. When fitting, always check the air filter, intake hoses, and breather system for air leaks, as unmetered air can cause incorrect readings and similar symptoms to a faulty sensor.
