T4,G3 Sump Gasket With Baffle - 2.0 Petrol + 1.9 Diesel (ABL,AAC,1X)

This oil sump baffle plate (also referred to as a windage tray) is designed to control oil movement inside the engine sump, reducing oil surge under braking, acceleration and cornering. It is a direct replacement for 1.9 diesel and 2.0 petrol engines and also makes an excellent retro-fit upgrade for performance builds.

What Does It Do?

Inside the sump, engine oil can surge away from the oil pick-up during hard driving. This baffle plate helps:

• Keep oil around the oil pump pick-up
• Reduce oil starvation risk
• Improve lubrication stability
• Minimise oil aeration caused by crankshaft windage

By separating the rotating crankshaft from the oil in the sump, it also reduces drag and helps maintain consistent oil pressure — particularly important on tuned Mk1 and Mk2 Golf models including 1500cc, 1600cc, 1800cc, 16v and G60 engines.

Installation Notes

Fitment requires removal of the oil pump. As access is already gained during installation, we strongly recommend replacing the oil pump and sump gasket at the same time for long-term reliability.

This plate is ideal during engine rebuilds or when upgrading earlier engines to later oil control specifications.
