This 4 pin planar lambda (oxygen) sensor is a direct replacement unit designed for a wide range of Volkswagen petrol engines. Featuring a 510mm cable length and heated 4-wire configuration, it provides accurate air/fuel mixture feedback to the engine control unit (ECU).

The lambda sensor measures the oxygen content in the exhaust gases. It generates a voltage signal based on the difference between exhaust oxygen levels and outside air. The ECU constantly adjusts fuel injection based on this signal to maintain the ideal air/fuel ratio (lambda 1), ensuring smooth performance, fuel efficiency and low emissions.

The planar sensor design heats up quickly, allowing closed-loop fuel control soon after startup. The 4-pin setup includes two heater wires and two signal wires for accurate and stable readings.
