G4 210mm Clutch Kit - 1.6

This 210mm clutch kit is designed for later 1.6 petrol Volkswagen models, featuring a 28 tooth (28 spline) friction disc and supplied with the correct release plate (clutch release bearing assembly). It is engineered to restore smooth gear engagement, correct biting point and reliable torque transfer in manual transmission vehicles.

The clutch assembly connects the engine’s crankshaft to the gearbox input shaft. The 210mm friction disc sits between the flywheel and pressure plate. When the clutch pedal is released, the pressure plate clamps the disc tightly against the flywheel, transmitting engine power through the 28-spline hub into the gearbox. When the pedal is pressed, the release plate actuates the diaphragm spring, separating the friction disc from the flywheel and allowing clean gear changes without grinding.

Common symptoms of wear include slipping under acceleration, shudder when pulling away, difficulty selecting gears, or a noisy release bearing. Replacing the complete kit ensures balanced clamping force, even wear and long service life.
