This electric EGR valve is a direct replacement for a wide range of Volkswagen petrol engines, supplied complete with the required gaskets and seals for a straightforward installation. The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve plays a key role in reducing exhaust emissions by recirculating a controlled amount of exhaust gas back into the intake system, lowering combustion temperatures and reducing NOx output.
On these VW petrol engines, the EGR valve is electronically controlled, allowing the engine management system to precisely regulate exhaust gas flow depending on engine load, temperature, and driving conditions. Over time, EGR valves can fail due to internal electrical faults or carbon build-up, leading to rough idle, hesitation, increased emissions, engine management warning lights, or MOT failures.
Replacing the EGR valve restores correct engine operation, improves drivability, and helps maintain factory emission levels. As seals and gaskets are included, no additional parts are normally required for fitting.
