G1,G2,G3 Oil Dipstick Guide

This dipstick guide tube is a direct replacement for worn, corroded, or damaged oil dipstick tubes fitted to a wide range of VW watercooled engines from 1.0 to 1.7 litres. The guide tube locates the dipstick correctly in the engine block, ensuring accurate oil level readings and preventing dirt or debris from entering the sump.

Over time, original dipstick tubes can rust, crack, or loosen at the block, leading to oil misting, leaks, or unreliable oil level checks. Replacing the guide tube restores a secure dipstick fit and helps maintain proper crankcase sealing. This part is especially common during engine rebuilds, sump removal, or when correcting oil leaks around the dipstick base.

Supplied as one dipstick guide tube. The dipstick itself is not included.

Fitting Notes

  • Always clean the block opening before installation

  • Check condition of the dipstick tube seal/O-ring (replace if required)

  • Ensure tube is fully seated and correctly aligned

  • Suitable for petrol and diesel engines within the listed range
