G3,G4 Oil Pump - 1.4-1.6

This engine oil pump is the heart of the lubrication system, drawing oil from the sump through the pick-up pipe and pushing it under pressure through the oil filter and galleries to protect the crankshaft bearings, camshaft, lifters and valvetrain. A healthy pump maintains stable oil pressure across the rev range, helping prevent bottom-end wear, noisy tappets and overheating oil.

Oil pumps can wear internally over time (especially after poor oil changes, sludge, or debris), leading to low oil pressure, warning light flicker when hot, or increased engine noise. Replacing the pump is a smart move during engine rebuilds or when oil pressure issues are confirmed.
