G4 Cylinder Head Gasket - 1.6

This cylinder head gasket is designed for VW 1.6 petrol engines, sealing the joint between the cylinder head and engine block. Its role is critical: it keeps combustion pressure, engine oil, and coolant separated, ensuring correct engine performance and preventing overheating, oil contamination, or loss of compression.

A failing head gasket can cause symptoms such as coolant loss, oil mixing, overheating, or poor running. This gasket is manufactured to precise specifications to restore the correct seal once the cylinder head has been removed for repair or overhaul. It is suitable for standard road engines and ideal for engine rebuilds or head work following overheating or gasket failure.

Supplied as one head gasket only. Cylinder head bolts are not included and should always be replaced when fitting a new head gasket.

Fitting Notes

• Always check cylinder head and block surfaces for flatness

• Replace head bolts (stretch bolts) during installation

• Use correct torque settings and tightening sequence

• Coolant and oil should be renewed after refitting
