G1,G2 Water Temperature Sensor (Red)

This red coolant temperature switch is used to control automatic cold-start and warm-up functions on classic Volkswagen petrol engines. Operating at 30/40°C, it monitors coolant temperature and signals the system when additional enrichment or idle control is required during cold starts.

A faulty temperature switch can cause poor cold starting, rough idle when cold, excessive fuel use, or incorrect warm-up behaviour. This replacement switch features the correct 2-pin terminal, M10x1 thread, and includes the sealing washer for a leak-free installation.

Colour coding is critical on VW temperature switches — this red version must only be used where specified, as different colours operate at different temperature ranges.
