T4,G1 Fuel Pump Flange - 1.5 (FD,JB), 1.6 (EW,FP,FR), 1.8 (PD)

This intermediate fuel pump flange, also commonly known as the fuel pump spacer, is fitted between the engine block and the mechanical fuel pump on classic VW petrol engines. Its primary role is to correctly space the fuel pump from the camshaft-driven pushrod, ensuring the correct stroke length and fuel delivery pressure.

A worn, cracked, or incorrectly sized flange can lead to fuel starvation, excessive pump wear, or fuel leaks. Replacing this spacer during fuel pump servicing helps restore reliable fuel supply and protects both the pump and pushrod. Manufactured to the correct dimensions, this flange is ideal for maintenance, engine rebuilds, or restoration work on carburettor-equipped models.

Function:

  • Correctly spaces the mechanical fuel pump

  • Ensures proper pushrod operation

  • Prevents premature fuel pump wear

  • Maintains consistent fuel pressure

Commonly replaced with:

  • Fuel pump gasket(s)

  • Fuel pump pushrod (check for wear)
