This ignition pulse sensor (Hall sensor) is a critical component of the ignition system on early VW petrol engines fitted with Bosch distributor systems. It detects distributor shaft rotation and sends a precise timing signal to the ignition control unit, allowing accurate spark timing and reliable engine operation.
A failing ignition pulse sensor can cause misfires, poor running, intermittent cutting out, or complete no-start conditions. This sensor is manufactured to Bosch specification, ensuring correct signal output and long-term reliability. It is a direct replacement part designed to restore correct ignition timing without modification.
Sensor type: Hall sensor
Manufacturer restriction: Bosch distributors only
