G2 Carburettor Flange - 1.0 (HZ Engine Code)

This carburettor base flange gasket is designed for Volkswagen 1.0 petrol engines, sealing the joint between the carburettor and inlet manifold. It is used on engines fitted with the HZ engine code (from the specified engine number onwards) and ACM engines, ensuring an airtight seal while also isolating heat and vibration.

The gasket is manufactured using a rubber/metal composite construction, providing durability, flexibility, and resistance to fuel and heat. A worn or damaged base flange gasket can cause vacuum leaks, rough idle, poor starting, hesitation, and erratic running. Replacing the gasket restores proper sealing and stable carburettor operation.

Important fitting note:

• HZ engines: Suitable from engine number M HZ 004 801 onwards

• Always clean mating surfaces thoroughly and ensure the carburettor is tightened evenly to avoid distortion.
