Brazilian Baywindow Water Pump

This mechanical water pump is a direct replacement for selected Volkswagen petrol engines, including Brazilian water-cooled Kombi models, circulating coolant through the engine and radiator to maintain stable operating temperatures.

Driven by the timing belt, the pump uses a 6-vane impeller to provide consistent coolant flow. Correct operation is essential to prevent overheating, localised hot spots in the cylinder head, and premature engine wear. Common signs of failure include coolant leaks, bearing noise, overheating, or poor heater performance.

Because the pump is driven by the timing belt, it is best practice to replace it whenever the timing belt is removed. Failure to do so risks premature belt failure or coolant loss shortly after a belt service.

Important: This pump uses a 27-tooth drive gear. Always confirm tooth count and engine code before ordering.
