G2,G3 Water Pump - 1.0-1.3

This mechanical water pump is a direct replacement for selected Volkswagen petrol and diesel engines, responsible for circulating coolant through the engine and radiator to maintain correct operating temperature.

Driven by the timing system, the pump moves coolant continuously while the engine is running, preventing overheating and ensuring even temperature control across the cylinder head and block. A failing water pump can cause coolant leaks, bearing noise, overheating, or loss of coolant circulation, leading to serious engine damage if ignored.

This version features a 30-tooth drive gear. It is important to note that early 1.3 (3F) engines used a 26-tooth water pump up to engine number 3F 008526. From engine number 3F 008527 onwards, the correct pump is the 30-tooth version supplied here.

Fitting notes: Always confirm engine code and engine number before ordering. Replace the water pump whenever the timing belt is removed. Renew coolant after fitting and bleed the cooling system correctly.
