Brazilian Baywindow Oil Filter - Watercooled Models

This short-style spin-on oil filter is a high-quality replacement for a wide range of small-capacity Volkswagen water-cooled engines from the early 1990s through to the mid-2000s, including the Brazil-built Kombi 1.4/1.6 water-cooled models. Designed to match OEM flow and filtration performance, this filter ensures clean, stable lubrication for engines from 1.0 to 1.6 litres, including both 8-valve and 16-valve variants.

The compact “short” design makes it ideal for tight engine bays and improves clearance around exhaust manifolds and driveshafts, especially on Polo and early Mk3/Mk4 Golf engines. Inside, the filter uses a high-capacity pleated media to trap fine particles and sludge, supporting long engine life and stable oil pressure. An anti-return (anti-drain-back) valve prevents oil draining from the filter when the engine is switched off, reducing wear during cold starts.

This filter is suitable for a huge list of VW petrol engines—1.0, 1.3, 1.4, 1.6 plus the 1.4D—across multiple model ranges. It threads directly into place with no modification required.
