G2,G3 Oil Pump - 1.0-1.4

This oil pump is a direct replacement for selected Volkswagen 1.0, 1.3 petrol and 1.4 petrol/diesel engines, responsible for circulating engine oil under pressure to all critical moving components.

Driven directly by the engine, the oil pump draws oil from the sump and forces it through the lubrication system to bearings, camshaft, tappets and valve gear. Correct oil pressure is essential to prevent metal-to-metal contact, control engine temperature and ensure long service life.

Oil pumps can wear internally over time, leading to low oil pressure, warning light illumination, noisy tappets, or accelerated engine wear. Replacing a worn pump is strongly recommended during engine rebuilds or when oil pressure problems are diagnosed.

Fitting notes: Always inspect the oil pickup pipe and strainer for sludge or blockage. Replace the oil pump gasket, refill with the correct grade of oil and prime the system before initial start-up. Excessive sealant use should be avoided as it can block oil galleries.
