G1 Oil Sump - 1.0-1.4

This oil sump is a direct replacement for Volkswagen 1.0, 1.1 and 1.3 petrol engines, and selected 1.4 petrol applications, forming the lower section of the engine and acting as the main oil reservoir.

The oil sump stores engine oil, allows heat dissipation, and provides a pickup point for the oil pump to circulate lubrication throughout the engine. Over time, sumps commonly suffer from corrosion, impact damage, stripped drain plug threads, or distortion from over-tightening, all of which can lead to oil leaks or low oil pressure.

Replacing a damaged or leaking sump restores proper oil containment and protects the engine from oil starvation and contamination. This sump is manufactured to the correct original profile to ensure correct oil capacity and proper clearance to the oil pickup pipe.

Fitting notes: Always replace the sump gasket, and inspect the oil pickup pipe and seal while the sump is removed. Check the oil drain plug and washer, and refill with the correct grade and quantity of engine oil after installation. Avoid overtightening the fixing bolts to prevent distortion.
