G1,G2,G3 Cylinder Head Gasket - 1.0-1.3

This cylinder head gasket is a direct replacement for Volkswagen 1.0, 1.3 and selected 1.4 petrol engines, sealing the joint between the cylinder head and engine block to maintain compression while keeping oil and coolant correctly separated.

The head gasket must withstand high combustion pressures and constant heat cycling as the engine warms and cools. Failure commonly results in coolant loss, oil contamination, overheating, pressurised cooling systems or poor starting. Replacing a worn or failed gasket restores correct sealing and reliable engine operation.

When fitting, always check cylinder head flatness and follow the correct tightening sequence and torque settings. For best results, it is strongly recommended to replace head bolts, inlet and exhaust gaskets, rocker cover gasket, and renew coolant and engine oil. Reusing old bolts or fitting to an unskimmed head is a common cause of repeat failure.
