This starter motor is a direct replacement for Volkswagen vehicles fitted with 1.9 TDI diesel engines and a 5 speed manual gearbox, designed to deliver reliable cranking performance even in high-mileage or hard-working vehicles.

The starter motor’s role is to turn the engine over at sufficient speed to allow fuel injection and compression ignition to begin. When the ignition key is turned, the solenoid engages the starter pinion with the flywheel ring gear, allowing the powerful electric motor to rotate the engine until it fires. Once running, the starter disengages automatically to prevent damage.

Diesel engines place higher demands on starter motors due to increased compression ratios, making correct power output and gear engagement critical.
