G4 Starter Motor

This heavy-duty 2.0kW starter motor is designed as a direct replacement for a wide range of late 1990s–mid 2000s Volkswagen petrol and diesel engines. Featuring a dual-option pinion design with 10 or 11 teeth, this starter ensures correct engagement with a variety of flywheel ring gears used across TDI, 1.8T, V5, VR6 and 3.2 V6 applications.

The powerful 2.0kW motor delivers strong cranking torque, essential for higher-compression diesel engines and larger-capacity petrol engines such as the 2.8 VR6 and 3.2 V6. This ensures rapid cold starts, consistent engagement and reliable operation even under demanding conditions. A failing starter may show symptoms such as clicking, slow turnover, grinding noises, intermittent non-starting or complete failure—issues that this OE-quality unit eliminates.
