Cylinder Head To Heat Exchanger Gaskets - 1978-83 - Type 4 Engines

This complete cylinder head to heat exchanger gasket kit is designed for 2000cc Type 4 aircooled engines, supplying all four gaskets required to correctly seal both sides of the engine. Ideal when replacing heat exchangers, curing exhaust leaks, or during engine rebuilds, this kit ensures the correct gasket is used in the correct position.

Type 4 engines use two different gasket styles:

• Straight holes for cylinders 1 & 4

• Offset holes for cylinders 2 & 3

This kit removes any guesswork by including two of each type, giving full engine coverage.

Kit Contents

• 2 × Cylinder head to heat exchanger gaskets – straight holes (cylinders 1 & 4)

• 2 × Cylinder head to heat exchanger gaskets – offset holes (cylinders 2 & 3)

Fitting Notes

• Covers left and right-hand sides of the engine

• Correct for late Type 4 exhaust layouts

• Recommended to replace all gaskets together to prevent uneven sealing and future exhaust leaks
