Crankshaft Main Oil Seal - Flywheel End (Large) - Type 4 Engines, Waterboxer Engines

This engine main oil seal fits the transmission (flywheel) side of the engine and seals the crankshaft where it passes into the bellhousing. Failure at this point is a very common cause of oil leaks that appear between the engine and gearbox, often soaking the clutch if left unchecked.

This is a reproduction version, manufactured as a cost-effective alternative to OEM brands. It is suitable for general repairs, budget rebuilds, or where originality is not critical. While not OE, it follows the correct dimensions and fitment for Type 4 and Waterboxer engines and is a popular replacement when carrying out clutch or gearbox work.

As with all flywheel-side seals, replacement is strongly recommended whenever the engine or gearbox is removed.
