This oil pressure switch is specifically designed for early Volkswagen T4 Transporters manufactured between July 1998 (Chassis No. F 70-X-041 315) and August 1998 (Chassis No. 70-X-053 924). Compatible with both the 1.9 Turbo Diesel (ABL engine code) and the 2.0 Petrol (AAC engine code) engines, this sensor plays a vital role in monitoring engine oil pressure and ensuring the safe operation of your vehicle.
The switch activates or deactivates based on oil pressure levels within the engine. With a switch point range of 0.15 to 0.35 bar, it helps protect your engine from potential damage caused by low oil pressure by triggering a dashboard warning light when pressure drops below the safe threshold. Featuring a single-pin connection and a blue color code for easy identification, this switch uses an M10x1 external thread for secure and precise installation.
Installation is straightforward, but it’s recommended to use thread sealant or a new sealing washer to ensure a leak-free fit. No additional adapters are required when replacing an existing compatible switch. However, if retrofitting or replacing a different switch model, verify the thread and pressure specifications to ensure compatibility.
