G1,G2,G3 210mm Clutch Kit Without Release Plate - 1.8 (EX,DX,2H,JH)

This 210 mm clutch kit with 24 spline friction disc is a high-quality replacement designed for a wide range of classic and early water-cooled Volkswagen petrol models. The kit includes the clutch pressure plate and clutch friction disc, supplying the core components required to restore smooth power transfer between the engine and gearbox.

The clutch system allows the driver to temporarily disconnect engine drive so gears can be selected smoothly. When the clutch pedal is released, the pressure plate clamps the friction disc against the flywheel, transmitting engine torque through the gearbox to the wheels. Pressing the pedal lifts this clamping force, allowing clean gear changes and smooth take-off.

Over time, clutch friction material wears and pressure plates lose clamping strength due to heat cycles and mileage. Common symptoms include clutch slip, judder, heavy pedal feel, or difficulty engaging gears. Replacing the clutch kit restores correct bite point, smooth engagement, and reliable drivability.

This kit is manufactured to OE-spec dimensions, with the correct 210 mm diameter and 24-tooth spline, ensuring compatibility with the original gearbox input shaft used across many Mk1, Mk2, and early Mk3 VW platforms.

Note: This kit is supplied without a clutch release bearing. A new release bearing is strongly recommended and should be ordered separately.
