G1,G3,G4 210mm Clutch Pressure Plate - 1992-93 - 1.8 (2H)

This 210 mm clutch pressure plate is a high-quality replacement designed for a wide range of Volkswagen petrol and diesel models from the mid-1990s through early-2000s. The pressure plate works alongside the clutch friction disc and flywheel to transmit engine torque to the gearbox, allowing smooth engagement and disengagement of drive.

When the clutch pedal is released, the diaphragm spring inside the pressure plate applies clamping force, pressing the friction disc firmly against the flywheel. This locks the engine and gearbox together, transferring power to the drivetrain. Pressing the clutch pedal relieves this pressure, allowing clean gear changes and smooth take-off.

Over time, pressure plates can weaken due to heat cycles, mileage, and repeated clutch operation. Symptoms of wear include clutch slip, judder on take-off, heavy pedal feel, or difficulty selecting gears.
