This inlet manifold gasket seals the joint between the inlet manifold and the cylinder head on a wide range of Volkswagen 1.5–1.8 petrol and diesel engines. A proper seal at this point is essential for maintaining correct air/fuel mixture, stable idle, and overall engine efficiency.

A worn or leaking inlet manifold gasket can cause vacuum leaks, rough running, hesitation, poor cold starting, and lean running conditions. Replacing the gasket restores airtight sealing between the manifold and head, ensuring smooth airflow into the engine.

What the gasket does and how it works

The inlet manifold delivers air (and air/fuel mixture on carburettor engines) into the cylinder head ports. This gasket sits between the manifold and the head, sealing each intake port individually.
