T25, Porsche 924,944,964,968 Water Temperature Sensor (To Gauge)

This water temperature sender is the gauge sender fitted into the water pump housing on Volkswagen Type 25 / T3 buses with 1900cc and 2100cc Waterboxer engines. It supplies the dashboard temperature gauge with an accurate coolant temperature signal, allowing you to monitor engine operating temperature and spot overheating issues early.

Over time, original senders can drift out of calibration or fail internally, leading to inaccurate readings, erratic gauge behaviour, or a dead temperature gauge altogether. Replacing a tired sender restores reliable feedback from the cooling system and helps protect your engine from unseen temperature problems.

This sender is the blue, 2-pin version, supplied complete with its sealing washer for a leak-free installation.

How it works

The sender contains a temperature-sensitive resistor that changes resistance as coolant temperature rises. The gauge interprets this signal and displays the corresponding temperature reading on the dashboard. Correct sender type, colour and thread size are critical, as different Waterboxer and VW applications use different resistance ranges.
