Type 25 Alternator Bracket - Waterboxer Engines (90AMP Alternators)

This angled alternator mounting bracket is designed for 90 Amp alternators fitted to Volkswagen Type 25 (T3) buses with Waterboxer engines. This version features the toothed pinion rail on the opposite side, making it essential for specific 90A alternator setups where the adjuster mechanism and belt alignment differ from the standard straight bracket.

As higher-output 90A alternators place greater load on the mounting system, the correct angled bracket is critical. It positions the alternator at the proper angle relative to the crankshaft pulley, ensuring accurate belt tracking and smooth adjustment via the toothed rail. Using the wrong bracket can lead to belt squeal, uneven wear, or difficulty achieving correct tension.

Manufactured from robust steel, this bracket bolts directly to the original engine mounting points and provides a solid, vibration-resistant support for the alternator. It’s ideal for replacing damaged or corroded originals, or when converting to a 90A alternator where this opposite-side toothed rail version is required.

How it works
