Type 25 Stainless Steel Exhaust System - 1986-92 - Waterboxer Engines

This high-quality stainless steel exhaust system is designed for Volkswagen Type 25 / T3 (Vanagon) models fitted with 1.9 and 2.1 Waterboxer petrol engines, covering vehicles from 1985 to 1992 that are not equipped with a catalytic converter.

Manufactured by SSP, this exhaust system is constructed from 304-grade stainless steel and is engineered to significantly outperform standard mild steel exhausts in both durability and exhaust flow. Featuring 4-2-1 mandrel-bent headers, the system improves exhaust gas scavenging, helping the engine breathe more efficiently and delivering sharper throttle response and smoother power delivery.

The system is supplied complete, including stainless steel mounting brackets, silencer straps, clamps, gaskets, and hot-air necks, allowing for straightforward installation with no guesswork. Extra-thick exhaust flanges are used throughout to minimise distortion over time, while the fully polished stainless steel silencer and tailpipe provide a clean, long-lasting finish that looks as good as it performs.

This exhaust system includes heat exchanger pipes suitable for 1.9 Waterboxer engines. When fitting to 2.1 fuel-injected engines, these pipes are not required. It can also be fitted to earlier water-cooled T3 models, provided the correct mounting components are used (see fitting notes below).
