This is a standard replacement, low-compression barrel and piston kit for 2.1 Waterboxer (WBX) engines fitted to VW Type 25 / T3 buses. Designed specifically for MV, SR and SS engine codes, this complete set restores correct factory compression characteristics, smooth running, and long-term reliability—ideal for rebuilds where originality and durability matter.

What this kit does (and why it matters)

Low-compression 2.1 WBX engines were engineered for reliability, drivability, and compatibility with standard fuels. As mileage builds, worn rings and glazed or worn cylinders lead to:

How it works

Each 94mm piston operates within a precision cast iron cylinder, converting combustion pressure into crankshaft rotation via the connecting rods.
