34 PICT 5 Carburettor Base Gasket - 1900cc Waterboxer (DF, EY Engine Codes)

This rubber carburettor base flange gasket is fitted between the carburettor and the inlet manifold on Volkswagen Type 25 / T3 buses equipped with 1900cc Waterboxer carburettor engines. It is designed specifically for engines using the Solex 34 PICT-5 carburettor and certain early DG engines fitted with a single-choke 34mm Solex carburettor.

The base flange plays a critical role in sealing the carburettor to the manifold while also providing a degree of vibration isolation and heat insulation. Over time, exposure to engine heat, fuel vapour, and constant vibration can cause the original rubber flange to harden, crack, or deform. When this happens, vacuum leaks can occur, leading to rough idle, hesitation, poor fuel economy, and erratic running.

Manufactured as a good quality replacement, this flange restores the correct factory sealing surface and ensures the carburettor is securely mounted and correctly aligned.
