Type 25 Syncro Air Mass Meter Intake Boot - 2100cc Waterboxer Engines (DJ,MV Engine Codes)

This replacement air flow meter (AFM) intake hose, often referred to as the intake boot, fits Type 25 / T3 Syncro models only equipped with 2.1 fuel-injected Waterboxer engines. It sits between the intake plenum and the airflow meter, forming a sealed, flexible connection that is essential for accurate airflow measurement and correct engine running.

On 2.1 injection systems, the airflow meter measures the volume of air entering the engine and feeds this information to the ECU to control fuelling. This boot must remain completely airtight. Over time, exposure to engine heat, oil vapour, fuel residue, and temperature fluctuations causes the original rubber to harden and crack. Even small splits can introduce unmetered air, leading to poor idle, hesitation, lean running, misfires, and reduced performance.

Manufactured as a direct replacement and formed to the correct Syncro-specific shape, this hose restores a proper seal and ensures stable airflow to the meter, helping the injection system operate as intended.

How it works

All intake air must pass through the airflow meter before entering the engine. This boot channels air from the intake to the AFM without leaks while allowing for engine movement. A sound, flexible boot is critical for maintaining the correct air–fuel ratio and smooth engine operation.
