Type 25 Thermostat Housing Guard - 1983-85 - Waterboxer Engines

This metal thermostat housing guard is fitted to the underside of the thermostat housing on early 1900cc petrol Waterboxer engines used in VW Type 25 / T3 buses from August 1982 to July 1985. It provides essential physical protection to the thermostat housing and associated components in the early cooling system layout.

Mounted beneath the thermostat housing, this guard helps shield the housing from road debris, water spray, and mechanical damage, particularly important given the low mounting position of the thermostat assembly on early Waterboxer engines. Missing or damaged guards can leave the thermostat housing exposed, increasing the risk of impact damage or premature corrosion.
