Engine Thermostat Housing - 1986-92 - Waterboxer Engines (With Oil Return)

This replacement engine thermostat housing is designed for VW Type 25 / T3 Transporters fitted with 1.9 and 2.1 waterboxer engines from 1986 onwards that use an oil cooler return connection. The housing forms a key part of the cooling system, directing coolant flow and regulating temperature in conjunction with the thermostat. A cracked, warped or leaking thermostat housing can cause coolant loss, overheating, poor heater performance or air ingress into the cooling system.

Manufactured to OE-style specifications, this housing provides the correct shape, mounting points and hose connections for waterboxer engines equipped with an oil cooler. It is a direct replacement and installs without modification.
Important: This version is not suitable for Syncro models, which require a different housing layout.

For correct operation, we recommend fitting a new thermostat and O-ring when installing this housing.
