Type 25 Oil Filler Tube - Waterboxer Engines - Syncro

This replacement oil filler pipe is specifically designed for Syncro Type 25 / T3 buses fitted with 1900cc and 2100cc petrol Waterboxer engines. It features the correct threaded upper section to accept the original-style screw-on oil filler cap and is shaped to suit the unique Syncro engine bay and drivetrain layout.

On Syncro models, the engine installation differs from standard 2WD T25/T3s due to the four-wheel-drive drivetrain and associated components. As a result, the oil filler pipe routing and positioning is Syncro-specific. This pipe ensures the correct alignment, clearance, and sealing required for proper oil filling and crankcase ventilation on Syncro vehicles.

Over time, original oil filler pipes can corrode, crack at the mounting flange, or suffer damaged threads at the cap—leading to oil leaks, poor sealing, and oil vapours in the engine bay. This replacement restores factory-correct function and fit.

What this part does and how it works

The oil filler pipe bolts directly to the crankcase and seals at its base with a dedicated gasket. It provides a rigid, sealed passage for adding engine oil and forms part of the crankcase breathing system. When combined with a good gasket and correctly sealing cap, it helps maintain proper crankcase pressure and prevents oil mist or leaks during operation—particularly important on Syncro models that often see higher loads and varied driving conditions.
