Type 25 Stainless Steel Pushrod Tube - Waterboxer, 1600cc (CT Engines)

This stainless steel pushrod tube is a high-quality upgrade for 1900cc and 2100cc Waterboxer engines and 1600cc aircooled CT engines fitted to VW Type 25 / T3 buses. It performs the same essential function as the original steel tube but offers greatly improved resistance to corrosion, making it ideal for long-term reliability and reduced maintenance.

The pushrod tube provides a sealed channel between the crankcase and the cylinder head, allowing the pushrod to operate the valve train while safely returning engine oil back to the crankcase. Stainless steel construction prevents the common issues seen with standard mild-steel tubes, such as rust, pitting, and surface degradation, which are frequent causes of persistent oil leaks on ageing engines.

Precision-manufactured to original dimensions, this stainless tube ensures correct seating of the seals at both ends and maintains proper alignment of the pushrod. It is especially well suited to engines used in damp climates, year-round vehicles, or freshly rebuilt engines where longevity and cleanliness are a priority.

Fitting & Required Seals

  • Sold individually – 8 required per engine

  • Seals are sold separately and must be renewed during installation

Required seals per pushrod tube:

Lightly lubricate all seals with clean engine oil before fitting and ensure the tube is centred correctly to avoid leaks.
