Type 25 Pushrod - Waterboxer, 1600cc (CT Engines)

This standard genuine Volkswagen pushrod is designed for Type 25 / T3 buses fitted with 1.9L and 2.1L Waterboxer petrol engines, as well as 1600cc aircooled CT engines, all using hydraulic cam followers (lifters). Manufactured to original VW specifications, this pushrod ensures correct valve train geometry and quiet, reliable operation.

In engines equipped with hydraulic lifters, the pushrod plays a critical role in transferring motion from the cam follower to the rocker arm. As the camshaft rotates, the hydraulic lifter automatically maintains zero valve clearance, while the pushrod delivers precise, consistent movement to open and close the valves. Correct pushrod length is essential—too long or too short can lead to improper valve timing, excessive noise, or premature wear.

With a measured length of 272mm, this pushrod is specifically matched to hydraulic lifter setups used on Waterboxer and 1600 CT engines. Its hardened steel construction provides the strength required to withstand constant reciprocating motion while maintaining dimensional stability over long service intervals.
