Type 4 Heat Exchanger Air Inlet Cover Plate Gasket - Right

This right hand side air inlet cover plate gasket is designed to fit the driver side (right on RHD vehicles) Type 4 heat exchanger, as fitted to Baywindow buses with 1700cc, 1800cc and 2000cc engines, along with aircooled Type 25 / T3 models using the 2000cc engine.

Fitted between the air inlet cover plate and the heat exchanger, this gasket plays a vital role in sealing the heating and cooling system. It prevents cooling air from escaping at the inlet point, ensuring that airflow is correctly channelled through the heat exchanger fins. This helps maintain efficient cabin heating, balanced airflow through the engine bay, and correct engine operating temperatures.

As these gaskets are exposed to constant heat and vibration, originals often harden, crack, or compress over time. A worn gasket can allow air leaks, reducing heater performance and potentially causing uneven cooling.
