Oil Cooler - Type 4 Engines

This stock replacement oil cooler is designed for Volkswagen Type 4 air-cooled engines in 1700cc, 1800cc, and 2000cc configurations. It is fitted to Baywindow Buses and early Type 25 (T3) Buses equipped with air-cooled engines, and is also suitable for Porsche models using Type 4 engines.

The oil cooler plays a vital role in regulating engine oil temperature by dissipating excess heat generated during operation. Maintaining correct oil temperature is essential for preserving oil viscosity, protecting internal engine components, and ensuring consistent oil pressure. Important Fitting Notes:

• Oil cooler seals are not included and must be replaced during installation

  • Correct seal part number: 021117151A

• On some installations, minor clearancing of the outer casing may be required to clear the oil filter mount
