Type 4 Engine - Lower Tinware - Right

This lower engine tinware panel is designed for the right-hand side of all Volkswagen Type 4 air-cooled engines. Engine tinware is essential for directing cooling air correctly around the cylinders and cylinder heads, allowing the engine to maintain stable operating temperatures and preventing hot exhaust air from being drawn back into the cooling system.

Fitted beneath the engine, this lower tinware panel seals the underside and works with the rest of the cooling shrouds and deflector plates to ensure efficient airflow. Missing or damaged tinware can significantly reduce cooling efficiency, leading to overheating and shortened engine life—particularly important on Type 4 engines used in heavier vehicles.

Manufactured as a direct replacement, this panel is shaped to original specifications for correct fitment on the right-hand side (driver’s side on RHD vehicles) of the engine. It is ideal for engine rebuilds, restorations, or replacing rusty or missing original tinware.
