Stainless Steel Type 4 Pushrod Tube

This stainless steel pushrod tube is a premium replacement for all Volkswagen Type 4 air-cooled engines in 1700cc, 1800cc, and 2000cc form. It is suitable for Baywindow Buses, air-cooled Type 25 (T3) Buses, and Porsche 914 models fitted with Type 4 engines.

The pushrod tube encloses the pushrod and provides a sealed oil return path from the cylinder head back to the crankcase. Over time, original mild steel or zinc-plated tubes can corrode, pit, or deform, leading to persistent oil leaks. Stainless steel pushrod tubes offer superior corrosion resistance and long-term durability, making them an excellent upgrade—particularly for engines used regularly or stored in damp environments.

Manufactured to original dimensions, these stainless steel tubes ensure correct fitment and sealing when used with the proper pushrod tube seals. They are ideal for engine rebuilds, performance builds, or whenever long-term reliability and reduced maintenance are priorities.

These pushrod tubes are sold individually, with eight required per engine.

Fitting Recommendation:
When fitting new pushrod tubes, new pushrod tube seals must always be installed to ensure a leak-free result:

• Small seal: 021109345A

• Large seal: 021109349B
