Type 4 Small End Bush Set - 24mm - KS

This connecting rod small end bush set is designed for all Volkswagen Type 4 engines in 1700cc, 1800cc, and 2000cc form, as fitted to Baywindow Buses, air-cooled Type 25 (T3) Buses, and Porsche 914 models. These bushes are a critical component of the connecting rod assembly, supporting the gudgeon (wrist) pin and allowing smooth, controlled movement between the piston and connecting rod.

The small end bush provides a precision bearing surface that reduces friction and wear under high engine loads. Over time, wear to the bush can result in piston noise, poor piston alignment, increased wear to pistons and pins, and ultimately engine damage. Replacement is essential during a full engine rebuild or when reconditioning connecting rods.

Manufactured by KS (Kolbenschmidt) in Germany, these bushes are produced to extremely tight tolerances using high-quality bearing material, ensuring excellent durability and long service life. They are supplied unfinished internally and must be reamed or honed to size after installation to achieve the correct clearance for your specific connecting rods. The oil feed holes must also be drilled during fitting to align with the original conrod oiling system.
