Rocker Cover Clip - Type 4 Engines

This rocker cover spring clip is designed for Volkswagen Type 4 1700cc, 1800cc, and 2000cc air-cooled engines fitted to Baywindow Buses and Type 25 (T3) air-cooled Buses up to 1983. It is also suitable for Porsche 914 models using Type 4 engines.

The spring clip plays a vital role in securing the rocker cover tightly against the cylinder head. By applying consistent spring tension, it compresses the rocker cover gasket evenly, helping to create a proper oil-tight seal. A weak, bent, or fatigued clip can allow the rocker cover to loosen, leading to oil leaks, gasket failure, and contamination of the engine bay.

Manufactured for durability and correct spring tension, this clip ensures a reliable fit and long service life. It is ideal for replacing tired original clips during routine maintenance, oil leak repairs, or complete engine rebuilds. Each engine requires two rocker cover clips—one per cylinder head. These are sold individually, allowing you to replace a single damaged clip or purchase a full set as needed.
