Baywindow Bus Clutch Cross Shaft - 1971-75 - Fully Welded

This heavy-duty fully welded clutch operating shaft is the perfect upgrade for all VW Baywindow Buses (1971–1975), particularly those fitted with high-performance engines or uprated clutches. Designed to withstand increased pedal pressure and torque, this strengthened version features 360-degree welded arms to eliminate the weak points found in standard shafts that can fail under heavy load.

Suitable for models fitted with 1600cc engines (200mm or 215mm clutches) and later-style clutch release bearings with integrated clips, this shaft is also compatible with 1700cc and 1800cc Type 4 engines using 210mm clutches.

The clutch operating shaft (cross shaft) connects the clutch pedal mechanism to the release bearing, disengaging the clutch when depressed. In high-performance or heavily-used vehicles, the original spot-welded arms can crack over time — this fully welded version provides superior durability and long-term reliability.
