Baywindow Bus Clutch Cross Shaft - 1968-70

This replacement clutch operating shaft is designed for use on all early Baywindow Buses (1968–1970) fitted with 1600cc engines and 200mm clutches. These early models use the first-generation clutch release bearing system, where the bearing is secured to the clutch cross shaft with separate clips, rather than the later integral style.

The clutch operating shaft (also known as the cross shaft) is responsible for transferring movement from the clutch pedal and cable to the release bearing, allowing the clutch to disengage smoothly. Over time, the shaft’s pivots and arms can wear, leading to stiff clutch operation, poor engagement, or failure to disengage completely.
