Beetle Automatic Clutch Seal - 1970-79

This replacement shaft seal is designed for the automatic clutch assembly used in Volkswagen semi-automatic gearboxes fitted after October 1969, where the seal is positioned on the outside of the gearbox casing (earlier versions had the seal fitted internally).

The seal prevents oil leakage between the gearbox and torque converter area, ensuring the automatic clutch system operates smoothly and efficiently. Over time, heat and wear can cause the seal to harden or leak, leading to clutch slippage and oil contamination. Replacing this seal is a must whenever the engine or gearbox is removed to ensure reliable operation and protection against fluid loss.

Manufactured to OEM specifications, this replacement seal provides a perfect fit and durable oil resistance, ensuring long service life and dependable performance.

Applications:

  • VW Beetle – from chassis number 110 2385 384 onwards

  • For semi-automatic gearboxes with external clutch shaft seal design

Fitment Note:
If your gearbox uses the internal-type seal (pre-10/1969), use part number 001301083 instead.
