Beetle Automatic Clutch Seal - 1968-69

This replacement shaft seal is designed for the automatic clutch system used on early Volkswagen semi-automatic gearboxes. It fits models built up to October 1969, where the seal is positioned on the inside of the gearbox casing (later versions had the seal fitted externally).

The clutch shaft seal prevents transmission fluid and engine oil from mixing, ensuring smooth operation of the automatic clutch system. A worn or leaking seal can lead to slipping, contamination, and eventual gearbox damage, so it’s always recommended to replace this seal whenever the engine is removed or clutch work is being carried out.

Manufactured to precise OEM specifications, this seal offers a secure fit and long service life, maintaining reliable gearbox performance and preventing unwanted leaks.

Applications:

  • VW Beetle – up to 1969 (VIN 110 2385 383)

  • VW Karmann Ghia – up to 1969 (VIN 149 2385 383)

  • For use with semi-automatic gearboxes fitted with internal clutch shaft seal design

Fitment Note:
If your gearbox has the seal on the outside, use part number 001301083B instead.
