These brand new hinges from BBT in Belgium are designed to replace the tailgate hinges on all Splitscreen Buses from August 1963 onwards and all Early Bay Buses from the start of production to July 1971.

Up until now the only option was to source second hand, now available brand new and are a perfect reproduction of the originals that have been reverse engineered.

The two distance rubber buffers are included with a pair of springs.  The buffers are necessary to mount the springs and stop them from rattling around once installed.

Beetle Adjustable Spring Plates – 1961-79 – Swing Axle Models – 1″ + 2” Drop (No Grommets Supplied)

For those of you with a Late Bug we are now offering our top quality Adjustable Spring plates from Transporterhaus without the rubber grommets.

Available in 1” and 2” Drop these spring plates save you a little bit of money and allow you to install urethane grommets instead of the normal rubber versions that are supplied with the spring plates normally.

These adjustable spring plates can be mounted onto 1961 onwards Swing Axle model rear suspension Beetles and Karmann Ghias which have the short torsion bars.

Features include:

• Manufactured with a 1″ or 2” drop built into them.  By bolting these plates on they will automatically lower the rear of your car by 1″ or 2” without turning the splines, allowing a further adjustment of up to 2” or 3” and half inches, lowering the rear of the Beetle by up to 3” or 4” and a half in total.
• Manufactured slightly longer than the standard plate allowing you to lower the rear of your car and still be able to get the correct wheel alignment and geometry.
• Fully adjustable spring plate allowing you to level the rear of your car up equally.
